I have to make a dessert for my dad's fourth of July party. Any suggestions?

i love watermelon..........but i do not know if that is really a dessert.....another thing is strawberry shortcake with lots of whipped cream... there is also a cake called better than sex cake....it is just cake mix with pineapple and the juice and you can add other things like walnuts in it and let that cook.. make a topping of pudding and coolwhip with small pineapple pieces in it and it is really delicious....

We call it green gunk. It's jello, ice cream, and fruit cocktail. Substitute a 1/4 gallon of vanilla ice cream for the cold water. It's good!!!

Flag Cake

Make one white cake in 13x9 pan -- let cool and don't remove from pan. Poke some holes in it pencil size (spoon handle, etc)

Make one lg pkg jello (red) and pour over cake -- put in fridge till it sets up.

Top with whipped topping and them decorate with blueberries and strawberries (cut them in half lengthwise) to make a flag.
