If you're a vegetarian, do you just let mosquitos bite the hell out of you? Wouldn't it be wrong if you were to kill a mosquito?

Ok, how about vegetarians who are against killing animals because they think it's cruel...

Wouldn't killing an insect be just as cruel as killing a f***ing cow. Does size dictate the value of it's existence?

Depends on the reason they are vegetarians. If they are vegetarian/vegan because they don't kill living creatures, then yes. If it's because their bodies can't process meat, then no.

And for those that are trying to define meat, spiders, grasshoppers and flies have more protein than beef, pound for pound.--- random fact, not first-hand knowledge

A vegetarian avoids eating animal flesh. Killing a mosquito is done more or less in self defense, not making it live in horrible conditions and then slaughtering it to stuff our greedy faces.

ETA: How often do you go around killing cows for your dinner? You probably would not do it if you had to. If you dont know the difference between a cow and a mosquito, you need to get back to biology class.

Sticking a cow in a small confined area to fatten them up is cruel. Slapping a mosquito to avoid getting bitten is something most mammals would attempt. It's nature.

I have to question your motive here? Do you think you are superior by eating rotting flesh? It must be nice having someone else do the killing for your dinner plate.

No, but insects aren't capable of feeling the way cows and humans do. Beside, with insects you squash them and they're dead. With cows they stun them and they have to watch other cows die, and given the sheer amount of animals killed each day there isn't enough time to administer painkillers - some pigs are sitll alive when they are drenched in scalding water (meant to soften the skin and remove the hairs).
Plus, that mosquito is hurting you and could possibly kill you if it carries malaria.
I think that we're pretty justified in killing a mosquito that could very well kill us.
And in case you start telling us that we're hypocritical by implying that our lives are more important than mosquitos - think this over:
A mosquito lays over a million eggs in its life time - most humans only give birth to two-three.
Vegetarians are helping to save the animals. Humans do good (ok, and bad) in the world, but mosquitos just....bite people.

You know what i think your right
vegans are agianst eating animal because you have to kill them so killing a mosquito would be the same as killing an annoying little snake ppl are saying a mosquito is an insect a snake isn't though so yes they are hypocrites

Well you cant tell what kind of mosquito is biting you and that is how you get diseases. If you think about it there is only one of you and millions of them so you could kill a couple of them and not be considered a hypocrite. The west nile disease is carried by mosquitos and you can die from just one bite so I would say kill em and not let em bite me whether I was vegetarian or not! good luck in your decision!

Vegetarian means: To avoid meat and/or animal products.
It does not mean they don't kill mosquitos and step on ants. It's just a diet choice.

I don't believe that it's a hypocritical act. Consider it self-defense. Killing animals is more of a religious/spiritual belief, such as Jainism (followers of this religion avoid killing any living creature, even to the extent of walking barefoot to avoid stepping on ants).

All I know is that if a member of PETA tried to throw paint on me for eating a steak or wearing a coat with fur on it I would beat them into oblivion and kick them multiple times in the face with a steal toed boot. I would love the chance to live out that scene that has gone through my mind 100's of times. Such annoying, "my sh1t don't stink" idiots.
