Here is a five minute documentary about a group of people with diabetes that changed their diet for 30 days and are NO longer diabetic. They're also making a longer documentary with Woody Harrelson, which should be out very soon. The good news is that this type of diet prevents and reverses almost every disease or so-called dis-ease. So watch this video and tell everyone you know about it, so we can put an end to all of this needless suffering!!!

Follow the food pyramid--eat three small meals and three snacks a day, to keep your blood sugar from making wild swings. Avoid processed foods as much as possible--eat whole grains and natural sugars, such as fruits, whenever you can. Ask your dietician to give you a balanced diet. I was also given a booklet which told what food falls into what categories, and she wrote out how many of each type I was to eat over the course of the day. If you are planning on going out to eat, or something else is coming up, you can "borrow" some of your servings you need from other meals, within reason.

No carbs., sugar, and fat. Carbs and sugar will make your insulin go up and fat is harder to get off if you gain the weight from being a diabetic. Visit the American Diabetic Association website and there should be list of what you can eat. Also, some food packages have the ADA stamp on the back and a conversion chart.
Eat lean meats, vegetables, some fruit and carbs are allowed. Also, make sure to drink lots of water because diabetes works on the kidneys and water will help them better.

It depends upon the status of the individuals. The food varies from person to person. To be in the safe side, extract juice of one bitter gourd, one cucumber and one tomato and mix them well to drink first thing in the morning daily before half an hour of breakfast to control the disorder. Also take quarter tea-spoon cinnamon powder after breakfast. Eating 2-3 raw garlic crushed into fine pieces and gulp with hot water will take care of high blood pressure. Cucumbers are very ideal for diabetic patients. Eat lots of vegetables, fruits and salad. Fruits such as Banana, mango and custard apple to be avoided totally. Drink sufficient water to quench your thrust due to diabetes. Brisk walking for one hour daily has proved to be a very effective exercise for the diabetic conditions. Always think positive. Reduce weight if obese and correct constipation. Cut down on food stuffs loaded with lots of calories. Be away from alcohol, tobacco, tea and coffee. Good luck and best of health.

ok...being diabetic and all...i know from experience...so...if you're like me, a 15 year old girl, who doesn't get that much enjoyment about taking insuin, then take these tips
1) eat lite bread, its better for you, has less carbs, and usually the carbs listed is for 2 slices of bread
2) if you're into baking cakes and stuff...use splenda...its a good alternative and you can't even tell the difference..
3) eat protein...i don't know why...but for me...i don't have to count it, so thats good
4) if you want a quick snack, try sugar free jello, veggies such as cucumber or carrots, and salads. they're easy to get and you can eat pretty much all you want
5) now they make carb concious ice cream!! isn't that great!!! its also sweetened with splenda so..you can eat it more often than reg. ice cream
6) if you're busy, you can eat those ready to eat meals...they're easy and fast to prepare...just make sure you read the labels =)...try lean cuisine or marie callenders...thats what i eat
7) if you're hungry late at night, try to eat cereal such as special k...
hope that helps!!

If you are diabetic, then you need to be on a good, healthy, balanced diet. Whole grains are excellant for diabetes. Fresh vegetables, and a limited amount of protien, like peanut butter, lean meat, fat free milk or yogurt and soy protien are good for you. Limit your fats, eat on a regular schedule, and stay away from sweets.
Hope this has been helpful. Good luck!

A diabetic can eat the same foods we all eat in proper amounts taking into consideration carbohydrate content and calories. For a splurge, he can eat ice cream or a candy bar as long as this is deducted from his total carbohydrate intake.
