I feel worse for the people that have cancer that are going to die. For me I KNOW i can keep myself from getting sick and dying from diabetes. so i don't feel sorry for myself or other people who have diabetes because their are ways to treat it. Unlike cancer you have slim chances of living.

My mother has diabetes and has had for 40 years now. She is 81. She has always taken care of her diabetes very well. She stays on her diet and takes her insulin, and has not wasted her life either. Up until about 5 years ago, she still worked, mostly I think because it got her out of the house. The only reason she quit was because her eyes were giving her trouble, and just recently she was declared legally blind.

yes, i found out that i was diabetic about a month and half ago and it know the wind out of me. i did not know who to handle it at first, but now getting advice and watching what i eat it is not so bad. i feel better because i know that i am not the only one with the problem. i still find it a bit difficult not know exactly what not to eat, so if anyone has a good diet for me to follow i would appreciate it.

My dad had it and died from it so I don't so much feel bad but I basically cut out all junk food and carbonated drinks after that. Big wake up call for me.

Anyway, as long as you mange it well, live your life. Just don't be stupid esp about diet. You can still eat great food just not all that processed junk.
