I cut myself in a private pool. There were lots of other girls there. If someone else had an STD, is it possible for me to get it? Please answer!

A long time ago some friends and I were in Florida. We thought it would be fun to wade out into the ocean after dark and net some crabs. We caught a bunch of them and decided to throw them in the hotel pool. Well it did make the folks swimming in the pool get out quick but all the crabs went to the bottom. The chlorine killed them almost as soon as they hit the water. I dont think anything could survive pool water.

And yes beer was involved.

No. The chlorine in the pool would of killed alot of things. STD's don't work like that. You need direct contact with the person either kissing, or having sex, or sharing something that directly came in contact with someone that has an STD

the chlorine in the pool wouldve killed off any infection... also others in the pool would have to also have an open wound ...

STDs are spread by bodily fluids and they have to make contact...

see the link that other person posted up, very good in understanding how STDs are contracted.

No you can not get a std unless you have un pretected sex with those girls or boys (only if one has an std already). Always remember dont trust nobody who you ever decide to sleep with always protect your self at all times. Your life is very precious protect it.

It's a possibility, but you probably did not. The chlorine in the pool water kills many germs.

maybe... if they had open sores or were also bleeding, you would have to make direct contact. Best bet is to talk to a doctor and get tested to make sure. and next time be more careful, hon.

No, hence std stands for Sexually Transmitted Disease. Not unless you had sex with one of them.
