Actually it could be either one. Herpes Simplex I usually affects a person above the waist, most notably cold sores. Herpes Simplex II usually affects a person in the genital area. However... if her boyfriend performed oral sex on a girl who has HSV-II, he could have been infected with HSV-II in his mouth and then transmitted it to her that way. If that's the case, then obviously she sould have HSV-II. He could also have had HSV-I forever and performed oral sex on your friend when he had an open sore. In this case she would have HSV-I in her genital area from his "cold sore." It really does not make a difference as far as treatment. There are treatments available for Herpes which act to reduce the length of the sore exposure. One such drug is called Valtrex. It doesn't cure Herpes because Herpes is a virus, but it at least converts it to its dormant form... when Herpes is in its dormant form, it cannot be given to another person. The only time Herpes is contageous is when there is a sore open and seeping. A person can only become infected if they have direct contact with the sore. It is not otherwise contageous. For example, your friend now has genital herpes, however even if she had open sores in her genital area and she kissed another person, the other person would not become infected. Only if the other person directly contacted your friends genitals with his mouth or genitals. Encourage your friend to get treated for this so that she doen't inadvertently pass it along. Good luck to your friend.

Usually type 1 is found on the mouth and type 2 has been found on the ginitals., but because of oral sex, both types can be found in both places. One can spread herpes without having an actual outbreak. Depending on the severity, she may need to seek medical attention to shorten her outbreaks with medications such as Zovirax or Acyclovir.. Herpes can be very painful I hope she gets better soon.

I got identified with herpes virus (type 2) about five yrs ago, when I was still in college and had a mindless one-night stand. I realize lots of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/gKImq everything changed.
Not only was I able to remove all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This system provided the opportunity to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

HS2. Type 1 is when you have it in your mouth. Type 2 is when it's in the genital region. Now she will have it the rest of her life. About 1 million people have type 1 in the U.S.

HSV-1.
A person can get HSV-1 by coming into contact with the saliva of an infected person. HSV-1 infection of the genitals almost always is caused by oral-genital sexual contact with a person who has the oral HSV-1 infection.

she has HSV-2 because this disease is transmitted through direct contact with infercted bodily secretions. Infection typically occurs during sexual intercourse, oral-genital sexual activity, kissing, and hand-to-body contact.
