I've been to that restaurant... and I can assure you , as many people can, that it's not really mexican food at all... just a cheap copy of some dishes. then why do people assume that's the way mexican food is? lol, maybe that's why many don't like it... taco bell. what do you guys think?

Ha ha, that's because many towns don't have real Mexican food. I live 45 minutes from the Mexican border, so I know real Mexican food. I must admit though, I still like Taco Bell...but not because its authentic Mexican food!

I dont think its real mexican food.

but mexicans do eat tacos.

the names are, usually made up. but the original tacos and quesadillas are eaten in mexico, and other spanish speaking countries.

but its the same thing as going to an italian restaurant like "the olive garden" Its not homemade, but its a spin off of actual italian dishes. though its not fast food like taco bell, so the quality is a lot less "cheap"

Most people also think that the Outback SteakHouse is authenitc Austrailian food as well.... Hmmmm NO!

Taco Bell is nothing more than a convenient fast food stop with a cheap greasy run of the border flavor. Now if you want Authentic TEX-MEX or true Mexican foods - come to my kitchen!

Taco Bell is AMERICANIZED mexican food. There's no cheddar cheese in Mexico, if there was, it wouldn't be called cheddar to begin with, just like there's no english word for TACO.

You want a real Mexican meal? Go to a Mexican friend's house, or go down past TJ!!

I love Taco Bell!! But yes you are right it is not real mexican food, but people do not know what REAL mexican food is. A lot of people think that Tex-Mex is Mexican food but it is not. This isn't just with Mexican it is with Sea Food too, any type of food!!

Come on Long John's this isn't real fish!!

People don't think it's mexican food, it's just a way to catigorize the food that's served. If it more resembled Chineese food, people would call it a chineeses fast food place.
I also know that the only people who take offense to Taco Bell being called mexican food, are people who think they are better then others because they've experanced things the others haven't.

Ex: "That's not mexican food! When I was in Mexico we found this little restruant..." Get over yourself

I don't like Taco Bell. It is a cheap knock-off. If I want real Mexican cuisine, then I go to a real Mexican restaurant. Same goes for Chinese food. It's not real Chinese food. Just a cheap Americanized version. I prefer to go to restaurants that serve real Chinese cuisine. (Italian too).
