Belize is becoming more popular than ever. Main attractions being magnificent barrier reef, beautiful near-pristine islands and mysterious Mayan ruins.

Also rapidly becoming the new American retirement haven. Property prices are the lowest of anywhere in the Caribbean, it's the only English-speaking Carib. country, ocean is 85 year round and there are NO taxes to speak of.

Plenty of hotels from luxury to budget, B&Bs are popular. Now the latest thing is lodgings for backpackers. Several small units share one detatched shower/bathroom. Cook your own food in central indoor-outdoor kitchen. Palapa with hammocks for relaxing.

Lots of backpackers come here to explore this fantastic outdoor playground, hike the trails to see waterfalls, caves, ongoing digs at Mayan ruins ...
jaguars, tapirs, colorful parrots ...ride cayaks thru cave rivers, raft the rapids, dive and snorkel, parasail, and lots more.

Easy and cheap to set up a backpackers "B&B". More are needed.

In japan, they are offering bare bones rooms very cheap with almost no services. Have you heard about the sleeping "pods" they have there? The rewards points and free stays are not that new but they are very aggressive about it. They are doing a lot of guest surveys. How about free wireless internet? Free breakfast is very popular. Exercise rooms and pools are standard. Marriott just redid all their beds & bedding. All inclusives are very popular.
