I remember this because I am a pepper for sure and
GOSH they POUNDED the airwaves with that commercial.
I'll even tell you it was done with the guy who went on to do the movie "An American Werewolf In London" (- David Naughton)
Here's the diddy:

Coca Cola went to town Pepsi Cola knocked him down 7up picked him up and Dr. Pepper fixed him up. I know it is not the jingle but it is cute anyway.
