Probably the Fourth of July. Less pressure about gifts, good weather generally and the ability to cook and eat outdoors.
We ususally have grilled oysters on the half shell with parmesan cheese and butter, 3 layer bbq ribs, corn on the cob, oven roasted new potatoes, chilled cucumber-tomato salad, and key lime pie or double chocolate cake!

Christmas!!
That is the time I break out my handed down recipes - from my Mom, Grandma, etc. Traditions that I have now handed down to my kids (hopefully). Food is not purchased pre-cooked --- everything is home cooked, cookies, cakes, candies, meals.
