I have a hole in the heart, and the doctor gave me pills to eat daily and it makes me grow really fat. The doctor said the pills will retain water in my body. What pills did he give me?

Do NOT stop taking your medication without talking to your doctor first. You have a serious medical issue and if your doc put you on it there was a reason. Call his/her office and ask to speak to him or his nurse. Tell doc or nurse what your concerns are and let your doctor tell you what you are taking and whether or not you can stop. I am sure they will be more than happy to talk to you.
You can't just stop taking heart medication. This is too serious.
You can always ask your doctor what your medication is when he prescribes it or even your pharmacist. In fact you should ask because that will allow you to take better care of yourself.

You are taking pills and you don't even know the name????? Never, even from a doctor take pills that you don't understand and don't know the name. You can go to WebMD with the name and find out about your prescription and see what the pill looks like so when your prescription is filled you know you are getting the right meds. Doctors and Pharmacist are human and mistakes are made. Never trust "anyone" unconditionally with your life and welfare. You are running blind. Stop It!

when they get the water out of your body, its most likely furosemide. a med that makes the kidneys work faster, you have to go to the bathroom a lot.

but please ask your doctor what he really gave you to be sure!
