Cold sores appear on your lips are they are usually pretty big, not like a small blister in your mouth. They also usually don't pop and go away. They can scab when they open up and it can take a while to heal. I don't think you had a cold sore, it doesn't sound like it anyway.
But yes, theoretically if you touch a cold sore and rub your genital area you can get genital herpes. It is REALLY rare to get it that way, but technically you could. If you have a herpes blisters and need to touch it for some reason you need to wash your hands really good after you touch it. You shouldn't be touching the sores anyway unless you are putting medication on them. The more you touch them, they more they can spread.

The short answer is yes, you can self-innoculate between oral herpes and genital herpes. You can also give someone else genital herpes if you have oral sex with them when you have a cold sore.
Been there, done that, self-innoculated from mouth to genitals via towels. Used to get out of the shower, dry my face then go to the crotch. It was before I was sexually active, so no other way. Dang.
On the other hand, your blister doesn't really sound like herpes. Most herpes cold sores and genital sores are really painful, especially the first time. I also get little blisters inside my mouth, but usually they seem to have to do with a place I accidentally bite or something

Actually frustrated nurse is not one hundred percent correct. Yes oral herpes are caused by the Herpes Simplex 1 virus, but you can spread HS1 to the genital region. However most people with genital herpes get it from the Herpes Simplex 2 virus. So in essence don't touch any open wound and then touch your genitals, eyes, or inside your nose without washing your hands. Mucous membranes are very susceptible to bacteria/viruses'.
