It is one of the healthiest foods out there. Fish has a lot of protein and a moderate dose of healthy omega-3 fats. A small amount of rice provides carbs and energy. Just don't overdo the soy sauce (because of the sodium). Add some veggies to your meal and you have a very well-balanced, minimally-processed, wholesome meal.

It all depends on where and when it is prepared... If you're in a coastal city where the sushi can be freshly prepared and it is being done by someone that has a history of making wholesome sushi then you can trust it to be healthy... If your in a landlocked area far away from any ocean you could argue that the fish wouldn't be fresh or sanitary or if the chef/cook has a habit of using the same equipment for preparing everything, I would question how safe it is to eat.... Other than that it's just a matter of whether you like to eat it or not

It all depends on what you eat and how much.

Now-a-days, contamination is a very big concern when consuming any seafood. Also, since you are consuming raw food, the risk of getting sick is ever present, although I've never heard of anyone getting sick from sushi while I was in Japan for almost 20 years.

Is it healthier than eating burgers and pizzas? Probablly.....

You should also remember, rice is almsot pure carbohydrate which turns into sugar, which get stored as fat when consumed in excess.

By the way, Japanese in Japan do not eat sushi that often. It is kind of a "treat" food and consumed in very occasional basis. If you are connecting Sushi as helthy food because many Japanese are thin, that is a false connection. Their traditional diet is high in vegetable, rice, and (cooked) fish.

It depends. For the most part yes, especially the oily fish. Some places have cuts of steak on the sushi menu, this probably isn't that healthy and neither is the egg.

It can be healthy, but there are risks involved in eating it, too. There are cases of death every year in Japan with ill prepared or toxic sushi.

If God wanted us to eat sushi, he wouldn't have let the cave man invent fire. No thanks.
