I'm a Banquet captain with 4 years experince, but i would like to get some sort of certification releated to the fod and beverage industry. can anyone give me any good ideas as to were i can go for this? could not really find much on the net for it.

would prefer free but if thats not available, i have no problem paying for it either, just would prefer free. thank you

I don't really think there is something as specific as banquet captain certification. However, there should be something in the hospitality field in general that you can take, probably at a local community college. If you work in a hotel that does banquets, they may have a management program that would apply to your situation as well.

best answer I have is to call one of the major hotels in your area like Marriott or Holiday Inn. Talk to a food and beverage director,they will get you on the right path. Its a good job to have but stressful. good luck.
