Ignore the "Soul Doctor" there are no natural occuring remedies you can give a child to cure or help diabetes in children. If there were, the drug companies would have done so years ago.
Ask you diabetes doctor or call the company that makes the test strips. There are many companies that offer their products for free or very little cost to those who can not afford them. You see that on TV all the time.

depending on the type of meter you have you can call the company that makes it and they will send out test strips for the meter at no charge. You have to go over any and all income and if you fit in the guidelines they will do this... usually they send 3 month supply at a time. You also have to have a doctors prescription for them. I did this with my husband who was very ill and we had no insurance. It takes some work but it is well worth the effort. Check with your daughters pediatric endocrinologist, sometimes they ahve samples from the manufacturer. Medicaid, or Medi-cal can cover the cost of her supplies.
Don't listen to Soul Doctor, there are no natural cures for type 1 diabetes, it is an auto-immune disease. Your daughter needs to take her insulin and test lots and lots, 6-8 times a day.
