As mentioned previously, mixing multiple mediums has been around forever. That was one of the first assignment topics when I took a 2D design course a while back ago.

However, personally I like the sounds of what you are trying to do. I say go for it, you never know what will become of it unless you try.

This is something i experiment with often but I use older processes to create my work. painting directly on photographs can sometimes look cheesy if not done correctly. Personally I first use a process called cyanotype and then on top of that i use gum bichromate/arabic printing which is a process of mixing light sensitive chemicals to paint and carefully applying it to the paper. This is not something I recommend to just anyone. You have to know what you are doing when working with chemicals. Do some research online or get a book if you are interested.

I don't think you came up with it originally. The process has been done ever since the origins of photography. If you do your work in an original manner I guess it would be fine. If you are doing it to be unique, sorry, it has been done quite often.

I don't particularly like when the mediums are mixed. Good photography needs no enhancements, but do what you like. Other people differ in opinion from myself.
