The correct term to fit your description would be "omnivore."
A vegan is someone who does not eat ANY animal products, including dairy. (A vegetarian may eat dairy but not other animal products.)

Um? Are you trying to become a vegetarian for the titles sake on it's own? Then you're wrong. Why would you become a vegetarian and eat meat every once in a while? It doesn't make much sense to me. What is your reasoning to even transitioning into a vegetarian lifestyle then? If you're going to eat meat every now and then, you're not a vegetarian. There are many like you.
A vegan is someone who completely cuts out dairy, meats, fish, and animal by products of any kind, such as honey (because it is derived from bees). Vegans will not wear leather, wool, or any type of material that comes from an animal. They will neither use any creams, shampoos, or make-up items (most usually) that contain any sort of animal by-product.
Good luck, hope you decide to become a vegetarian. But again, impossible if you plan on eating meat every once in a while. Then you're just a normal eater, who doesn't indulge in meats often.

You can choose to nourish your body any way you see fit. If that means cutting back on meat, so much the better. You will not be a vegetarian, though, if you continue to eat meat at all. If you really want a label, some people like "flexitarian," meaning someone who eats mainly vegetarian on a daily basis but is flexible enough to include meat when they deem that the occasion calls for it.

IT's not possible to be half vegitarian. I'm a vegan, and I get comments from people all the time about what they eat. I've heard of a lot of people who are "vegitarians" that eat fish. I've also heard of those who eat pork, chicken, and one lady even told me she was a vegitarian, but every now and then she ate pork, chicken, seafood, fish, and sometimes beef! That's crazy. If your a vegitarian, you DON"T eat meat. period. If your "half vegitarian" then all that means is you don't eat a lot of meat, but your not a vegitarian. Anyway, vegitarians are split into 3, now even 4 groups. Lacto ovo's eat no meat. Ovo's eat no meat or eggs, Vegans eat no meat, eggs, or dairy, and some people "go Raw" which means they eat no meat, eggs, dairy, and everything they do eat is raw, and not cooked. Also, gelitain comes from livestock (mostly pigs, cows, and horse) bones and hoofs. No true vegitarians can eat gelitain, so no jello eithier. Hope this helped.

Vegan is someone that does not eat any meat or any products from animals, such as milk, eggs, leather, cheese...
Of course it's possible to be half vegetarian, you eat what you want. I don't think there's a name for people that do that, but still.

If you are a vegetarian, you don't eat meat at all. If you are a vegan, you don't eat any animal products (meat, dairy, eggs, honey, etc.) I stopped calling myself a vegetarian because people kept asking me if I ate chicken and fish (chicken and fish are not vegetables). Anyway, eat what you want to eat and don't worry about what to call it.

Why use a label as half vegetarian, why not just eat what you feel like eating, and still have your feelings toward the killing of animals.

I don't think there is such thing as being half a vegan or vegetarian. Either the light is on, or the light is off.
If it is your rule, it's okay to break it!
Maybe I'll see you at Burger King sometime!
