I think you mean paramediastinal shading. Para means half, mediastinal is the area between the lungs that contain the trachea (windpipe), aorta, lymphnodes, etc. This could be benign or could mean a variety of things, most of which are treatable. It could be as simple as not taking a deep breath on a chest xray to more serious stuff such as tb, cancer, pulmonary edema (the blood vessels in the lungs have become enlarged) Get a second test, xray ct lung scan and another visit to the dr.
