Call the diabetic educator at your nearest hospital or your doctors office and ask them if they can help you out. Our local hospital diabetic educator has been a life saver with our son.

I also have a contact in Arkansas that can get us test strips about 1/2 price, but you might have to change testers. We recently got 100 Ascensia Contour test strips for $55.28 and they sent us a free tester with it. Craig 1-501-908-9671. You might also go on line to Artex.com. His E Mail is Craigg@Artexmedical.com.

I also went online to pparx.org and you can put in what meds you take and they will give you contacts along with forms to get assistance with your meds, insulin, etc.

I also called our local Lions Club and they had a diabetic help program where they purchased needed meds for people.

Just keep calling and searching until you find someone that will help you.

www.FreedoMed.com is a great place to get supplied if you have insurance. They usually will accept what your insurance pays and they send you 3 months supply. Phone #888-722-7556. :0)

S**t , that's *terrible*!. You HAVE to be able to get some strips, or some dollars, from *somewhere*. Is there a free clinic, where you can explain ur situation?? Hell-I'd be begging for those strips, rather than try and do without them. I'm not an expert on diabetes, but lived with two diabetic women , at one time. It always seemed pretty important to get it right--lots of stories of going to hospital, blacking out etc etc, from wrong dosage. And longterm damage too. Get the strips!!

no its not safe to do that....you will be playing russian roulette with your glucose..I've seen people do that in the past and some of the outcomes werent very good...especially if you must test and inject more than 1 or 2x a day..call you doc's office or you pharmacist and see if they can give you enough to finish out the month or talk to your church, local social services..sometimes your local hospital will have a way of providing you with the strips or info you need to get them....good luck

Don't try that! Call the foundation for diabetes and maybe they can help get your strips for you. Maybe you Dr. has samples? Good luck!
