You can be perfectly healthy eating as a vegetarian or even a vegan. You have to be very committed though, it takes a lot of work to make sure you have a balanced diet. There are a lot of great sources of protein other than meat. If you are serious though, there are several sources of information including great cookbooks and websites (I listed one below).
We are not strict vegetarians, but usually have meatless meals 2-3 times a week and when we do have meat with dinner I only cook one 3-4 oz servings per person. We feel better, are fuller because we eat more vegetables and healthy grains and I have significantly lowered my blood pressure. While it was suggested to me I try a vegan lifestyle, I am too in love with dairy products and find soy milk products too lacking to go that route.
I am still working to convince my husband he can survive as a vegetarian, until then though I am slowly slipping those vegetarian meals in.

Who is weaker?
The strongest creatures on the planet are all vegetarian. How are we different?
Human bodies process vegetables and fruit much more efficiently than meat (which mostly leaves the same way it goes in). Overall, our bodies are much more efficient when digesting food the body is designed to. We are not designed well for meat consumption.
So, yes, vegetarian/vegan food is superior for health.
Read The Book of Daniel Chapter 1...for an early example of this knowledge.
Bless!
p.s. Nevermind ones with the lacking protein myth...there is more protein in a handful of sunflower seeds than there is in a steak. As long as you combine two sources of different protein in a meal (like brown rice and beans) you will get the full array of amino acids needed for the body. Where do the cattle get their protein? From eating plants! Enough with the protein myth.

I disagree. I think the body does need some form of animal proteins in order to keep a strong immune system.
I know some vegans who are constantly sick and or sickly and the REFUSE to accept the fact that they need animal proteins.
Why be a vegan anyway? Whats the point? To live a healthy lifestyle so that you live longer?
be healthier? That doesnt seem to be the case...so what is it really that makes people want to shun the joy of eating pork fat or chicken skin?
The fear of dying?

If you are a strict vegetarian and don' t eat any animal products whatsoever, you are missing some essential proteins that you can only get from animal products

Oh yes definitely, but you have to watch out for its uric acid content. If you are prone to having gout, think twice. But it's a lot more healthy than eating meat or pork, but fish is ok too.
