Being a vegetarian, absolutely. Consumer Reports says that vegetarianism is the only way to live a healthy life. It's actually better for your body! Also, it saves the animals and the environment! (That's not a type-o). Becoming a vegetarian is easy. Many people moan "I can't live w/out my meat", but really, you've still got the bottom 3 (and the yummy top 1) parts of the old food pyramid. You can absolutely live. Also, if you don't like tofu you're OK because there is still bread, fruit, veggies, candy...

Why should we feel guilty about eating meat?

If you're religious, well God says you can eat meat. Read the Torah and the Christian bible -- probably in the Koran, too.

If you're secular, evolution says you can eat meat. There is a food chain, you know: Plants grow in the ground, plants get eaten by animals, animals get eaten by us. We evolved as meat eaters.

I chose meat, meat, MEAT... with a large serving of vegetables on the side, since I LOVE vegetables :-)

being a vegetarian.

Uhm, death means you're like, dead.

So, why not be a vegetarian?

Nobody knows what death is like, it would be hard to compare the two accurately if nobody here has yet experienced death.

The Vegetarian Advantage

Abundance of fiber. High fiber diets are associated with lower rates of obesity, cancer, and coronary artery disease. Fiber also promotes proper bowel function, helps stabilize blood-sugar levels, and helps reduce cholesterol.

Decreased environmental impact. It takes 25 gallons of water to produce a pound of potatoes. In contrast, one pound of beef needs 390 gallons. The production of one pound of beef requires almost 16 pounds of plant protein.

Variety of beneficial plant chemicals. Scientists have not discovered all the substances in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and beans. But we do know that plant chemicals (phytochemicals) play an important role in body processes and help protect our health.

Avoids the suffering and slaughter of animals.

Naturally less saturated fat and cholesterol, plus fewer hormones.

Takes less money.? A pound of beans swells when cooked. A pound of ground beef shrinks. Economic factors affect the food choices of many cultures around the world, resulting in meat being used as a condiment instead of the focus at meals.

Avoids increased risk of chronic degenerative diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, obesity, and high blood pressure.

Greater possibility of avoiding food-borne illnesses such as E. coli, salmonella, and Listeria that come from improperly cooked meats.

Eating lower on the food chain. Why not get nutrition directly from a plant-based diet instead of eating cows that get their nutrition from plants?

French fries and soda pop are vegetarian but not necessarily healthful! The advantages of vegetarian eating depend on wise food choices.

Only meat or death? Really, death is better.

What kind of question is that? Unless you're suicidal, pretty much anything is preferable to death.

(I'm a vegan and I'm perfectly happy).

vegetarian is best, vegetables are meant for human being ,chicken, beef fish are meant for other animals not for us, if we eat that, it means that we are making ecology imbalance.
We cant compare vegetables with animals who are creatures with feelings if we kill them they shout, they have pain.
