Is there any amount of money I can offer you to change your mind?

2006-06-25 21:35:13 · 19 answers · asked by Anonymous in Food & Drink Vegetarian & Vegan

I'm just wondering, because a friend of mine ate a hamburger for 10 bucks, when it was against his religion and beliefs.

What if I offered you the thing you want most in this world?

I would eat the whole cow for $100

Some parts aren't edible or digestible, but yes, I would. I am a vegetarian, but not a lot of people have at least a million dollars. I don't eat meat because I choose not to. I would get 4 of my friends to not eat meat the whole month and pay them all 400 bucks (currency kind of buck) If these 4 people ate meat everyday, and then didn't for a month, but I did, that is equal. My friends would need to be bribed in order to give up meat, I don't need to be. But if you're going to give me one million dollars to eat meat (I've eaten meat before!!) then why not?

Money talks (figure of speech)

If a vegetarian is willing to eat meat for the sake of money than that person has very questionable believes. Because at the end of the day it's not about being a vegetarian or about getting the million dollars. It's all about believing in something and not going against your believe. If you think about it, your question can be the same as, 'will you kill someone if I give you a million dollar?' I dont think this question is any different than yours because it's all about how strongly you believe in something.

Ooh tough one. There are more important things in life than cows. I wouldn't eat a burger for ten bucks, but a person can do a lot of good with a million dollars. Also, cows are huge. Is it even possible to eat one in a month?

Well, there are different reasons why people are vegetarians...I mean I'd definately do it, just becasue I have nothing against eating meat --- I'm just a vegetarian because I don't like the taste of meat. So yeah, for a million bucks, I'd so do it.

Apparently, a cow of 881 pounds (400kg) is turned into 308 pounds (140 kg) of edible products, so you would have to eat 44 pounds (20 kg) of "cow" each day.
I doubt that this is possible... even for renegade vegetarians...

There is nothing you could offer me to make me eat meat of any kind. As I live in England, I gave up meat during the "Mad Cow Disease" scares.

My conscience, my principles and my soul are not for sale for any amount of money. I love animals and I will never eat them again for any reason.

But I wonder why you would want so much to change someone's cherished beliefs and ideals. Why do you want so much to tempt someone to do something that they believe is wrong?

No, firstly I wouldn't want to and secondly I couldn't physically do it. Vegetarians and vegans cant be swayed by money, nothing you could offer me would change my mind.
