Who knows. How can one guarantee with a single man captured that the world would be safe?

Mr. Ibrahim,
It is not time yet for Osama Bin Laden to be captured. His role is not expired yet. As lots of Americans think that Bush is such an idiot, he is not that stupid to capture Bin Ladin now. It is too early! Bush's administration needs some kind of justification to stay in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Middle East. If Bush captures Bin Ladin now, then Bush has no excuse to exploit Iraq and Afghanistan. Got it now? Our world is safe when USA says so, regardless what the real thing is.

The world hasn't been a safe place for a very long time. Its only in the past few years that Americans are realizing this. Capturing bin laden won't solve anything, but educating the poor and feeding the hungry will.

He probably won't be captured because its not in anyones interests to do so.

If he is killed in a gunfight he will be a martyr, if he is captured he will become a figurehead for terror against whatever country holds him.

If he is put on trial whatever the outcome is, it will be a cause celebre' for some elements of society.

It is better as it is, where he has to stay in hiding and is therefore marginalised in terms of his influence.

If any of the security services actually do catch up with him my feeling is that he will simply "disapear" without any publicity fuss or rejoicing.

This in itself will not make to world safer as there are other lunatics who will take his place.

I am much more concerned about the religious fanatics who are in charge of Iran, as it now seems likely that they will have their fingers on a nuclear button at some point in the future.

If only we were all as smart as Sam J. The war wouldn't have started, pity. OK then, back to reality.
Ibrahim, go out to any mountainous area, and hide. See how long it takes for someone to find you. The Earth is pretty big. Truth is, once all the dumbasses get tired of dying for no reason because of Bin Laden, someone will snitch him out, it could already be in the works. People who follow him don't have any education, they don't know what's good for them.

his capture will mean very little to the end of terrorism. Total safety from terrorism would be eradication of radical Islam, which has existed longer than you or I. If Osama is captured, another will step in as a leader. It's better to make osama obsolete by making more bridges with the Islamic community. With fewer followers, his threat is decreased. the more we resist and chase him, the more people jump onto his cause.

Osama is alive but not well. He remains on dyalisis and is certainly not receiving the best of medical care. I often wonder however, if the objective has ever been to capture him. Instead the objective might be to continue tracking/watching him so that he helps identify fellow collaborators.

Sort of like the bad guys trying to capture bat man isn't it? Is Bat Man bad or are the guys out to get him bad? Is Osama bad or are the guys out to get him bad? Right now they can blame all sorts of stuff on him and his gang but if they catch him then they can't blame too much on him then.

He will never be captured died or alive. But I doubt that it matters much now. He did his thing on 9-11, and that is really the end him and his organization! Good Riddens!
