Where can I find an online support group, perhaps a chat room, as the fiancee of a quadruple bypass patient? Or a 24 hr. Hotline? I would like to ask what to expect. I know people become angry and upset, sometimes their personalities change - If anyone has experienced this, please help me.

I'm a nurse who works with open heart patients in an ICU. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have. This will be a difficult time for you and your finacee. But you can both get through it, and in the end he will be glad he had the surgery. Best of luck to you both.

Just support them and understand they are going through a very tough time right now. Just be glad that it isn't 50 years ago and they would be dead.

My mother and my older sister both have gone through it and that's not always the case they are the same today as they were before their surgeries!

He is expressing his frustration over the situation.

All you can do is be there for him, and watch for warning signs of depression and/or suicide.

It's tough. They want to get on with their lives, not be burdened with this. It sucks.
