I wouldn't trust what he says his test results were unless you saw them with your own eyes. Unless you've had sex with other people, it wouldn't be possible for you to get chlamydia or gonorrhea (the two most common culprits behind PID.)

If you suspect that he is a cheater, then it might be best to end the relationship...if he cheats on you again, you can get chlamydia or gonorrhea back and it can cause PID all over again, thus potentially damaging your fertility.

How is it transmitted?
Two other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), chlamydia and gonorrhea, are the most common causes of PID. Other bacteria or germs can also cause PID. If you have an infection in the genital tract and do not get treated right away, it can cause PID. The infection spreads from the cervix into the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. It can take anywhere from several days to several months after being infected to develop PID.
What can cause an infection to spread into the upper genital tract?

Using an IUD (intrauterine device)
Germs
Douching. Women who douche once or twice a month are more likely to have PID than those who douche less than once a month. Douching may also ease symptoms of an infection, thus delaying effective treatment.

From the medical reports I have read, most PID's originate from sexually transmitted diseases such as you were tested. It's rare that you could test positive and your partner negative however, if you are being honest - unless you or your doctor saw 'his' results, I'm not sure I would believe him. "Transmitted" implies that someone-gave it-to-someone. I hope you are getting treated immediately. Delays can hurt your chances of becoming a mother if that is something you want. Then, I'd have a talk with "Romeo". There is no need to lie in a situation like this. Your life is involved and if he is not being honest with you, then he is willing to put you at risk? I don't think so,.

If you are 100% positive that you have been with no one but him in the last 2 years and you tested positive and him negative then I would be having the tests run over, obviously something is wrong. Did you actually see his results? Usually the doctor will only release the results to the patient as a general rule. I would make him provide me written proof that he is negative.

Any hun, if you "suspect" that he is a cheater then he more than likely is and you are probably better off without him if you are having to go through all this.Good luck to you.
