At burger king, I order an "old style veggie whopper".
That's the whopper with just the veggies, ketchup, etc. It is a few cents less than a regular whopper. Make sure you say you want the old style or you will get the veggie burger.
A veggie burger is a whopper with a soy burger. I can't bring myself to eat one though.
Taco Bell, I order a soft taco no meat.
Wendy's will make you a hamburger but they charge the same as a regular single hamburger.
As far as meat substitutes, the best thing is to eat a peanutbutter sandwich. Peanutbutter is a good meat substitute.
I have been a vegeterian since I was little. They showed us where it all came from and it didn't sit well with me. LOL
I hope this helps you.

" most of the body needed meat to develope, especially the brain" Blatant Lie. If it were true - how do people who have been vegetarians since birth continue to live into adulthood?
"it's really stupid and if you weren't supposed to eat animals, god wouldn't make them taste so good." Ignorance and Lie.
"there are many types of vegetarians, some eat seafood only, or poultry.. " Misinformation. Vegetarians don't eat any type of dead animal - regardless of cute factor.
"the good lord put animals on this earth for what ...us to EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! " More lies. How can one speak for the reasons God did somthing?
"Hope you keep at it, since it is much better for your health and the planet to be a vegetarian! " We have a winner! True, True, True!!
I don't go to McDonalds or Burger King, but I know they have veggie burgers available. However, they are cooked on the same grill as meat, so you may get beef or chicken residue. That pretty much leaves salads. Be aware that Mickey Dees' fries are NOT VEGETARIAN, and neither are their hash browns.
Taco Bell has tons of things, and they are great about substituting. Their 7 layer burrito is vegetarian, and if you don't eat Gelatin, simply get it without the Sour Cream to lower your risk of eating it accidentally. You could also get any item and simply sub beans for the meat.
As far as being bored - buy a few vegetarian cookbooks and start using them to guide you. Also, the longer you are vegetarian, the more ideas you can come up with on your own for recipies. Eat out in all kinds of restaurants more often to help create ideas for meals that you can cook at home. And, make a trip to Trader Joe's - they have a ton of vegetarian food!

I have been veg for ..... wow.... 16 years now. Vegetarian food is definitely NOT boring. I think the only big challenge to overcome is learning to cook for yourself and cultivating some imagination when you cook.
There are a TON of great vegetarian cookbooks out there- try going to Barnes & Noble or Borders or your local bookshop and check out the vegetarian section. If you aren't a big cook, I would suggest books with simple recipes like The Clueless Vegetarian, The Student's Vegetarian Cookbook, or something like that. Instead of ordering online, it is best to actually scan through some of the books and get some idea of how much you will like it from the recipes. (If it makes your mouth water, that's the one)
As for fast food...... I like Taco Bell. There are some rumors that their beans are not veg, but they are. Burger King has a veggie burger on the menu- it is cooked on the same grill as the regular burgers, but if that doesn't bother you, go for it. McDonald's is best to just avoid. I hear they have some good salads, but they seem to **** them all up by putting chicken on them.

Needless to say, salads are the order of the day when out. If you are a strict vegetarian, that would mean no meat of any type, but do you do dairy? Eggs? Some vegetarians even eat fish. Depending upon your own guidelines, you should be able to find enough things to eat at most places, just not much variety at fast food. There are a lot of good veggie wraps and subs, at places like Qboda, Wawa, and Subway.
The harder task would be to be a meatratarian and only eat meat, no plant matter? What would you put a hamburger on? :)

Heck yeah!! I am!! For almost 3 years!!
Try anything from MorningStar Farms and Gardenburger. They're really great. I like the veggie crumbles (like ground beef) to use for tacos and chili. Delish!!
I don't eat from McDonalds, because they cook with lard (ie - french fries). I'm not sure about Burger King. I think they do have a veggie burger, though. Taco Bell is my favorite fast food restaurant. I love their burritos. Just make sure it's without meat, and everything else there is good.
Good luck with everything!! I LOVE it! And think of all the animals you're saving!! Congrats and feel good about yourself!!

I have been a vegetarian for 37 years. I don't eat any meat, including chicken or fish or eggs. It takes a while to figure out what you like. I like lasagne, spaghetti, chili with corn tortillas, pizza, tacos, enchiladas, salad with a baked potato, brown rice with steamed vegetables, wheat bread, peanut butter, smoothies. At restaurants I have a salad. At Taco Bell I get a bean burrito and a bean tostada. Hope you keep at it, since it is much better for your health and the planet to be a vegetarian!

Wow, you're bored as a vegetarian? Incredible. That is really impossible, my friend. I'm a raw food vegan and I am never bored! There are so many different types of veggies and fruits, and way to prepare them. You can't become bored! You're maybe only lazy.
For a vegetarian, you have so so so many options. They're endless. Cheese, pastas, rice, eggs, soy dogs, soy burgers, tofu, anything! Soups, countless of things!
Look it up online, there are tons of recipes. Vegetarians don't have it hard at all.
Good luck.

Cheese, beans, boca burgers, portabello mushroom burgers, salads. Maybe you should do some more research if you're bored already trying to be a vegetarian. Stay away from the high sugar, fried foods -- there are fat vegetarians.

there are many types of vegetarians, some eat seafood only, or poultry.. You get what I mean. I've been a veggie for 12 1/2 years and you can go to fast food places and get substitutes for the meat... I go to BK and ask for a whopper with no meat and it's super yummy! You can always ask for no meat and extra something else to take it's place, they never care, in fact, it saves them money... Greedy bastards! ;)
