My doctor said she tested me the day I had my baby.. May 6th!! I was then negative for chlamydia.. Then when I had my 6 week check-up I was positive.. I barely had sex with my husband and I know for a fact he wasn't unfaithful between those times.. He was not out of my sight??? So i went and took the medicine! Should I have asked for a retest? Is it still possible to have her retest the same swab that read positive? Its very confusing and frustrating! Could I have had it before the baby? I had my baby 2 months early for no reason!!! Could she have missed it then??

Barely having sex with someone does not prevent STD transmission. Ask for a retest of a new swab...i have heard of doctors or even the laboratory technician making mistakes switching swabs. So you need a new test and make sure your tube is correctly labeled.
If the retest is positive....then I would really question your husband. Infact I would say before going back there is a good chance that the mixed up the swabs and I am going to have a new test because at the moment I do not think it is possible. But is there anything I should know before then? If there is you better tell me now....because I should start antibodics asap and if I find out you lie about this our relationship is in limbo and my health is at risk.

Wow, delivery is pretty late in pregnancy to be testing for STDS. that usually done at the outset. Anyway, it is likely that the first test was misread. Which means you got it from somewhere......likely your husband. Now, before you go off ranting....chlamydia is often asymptomatic in men. There is no telling how long he may have had it and not known. So dont jump to conclusions and start thinking that someone was doing something they shouldnt have been which is not necessarily the case. he does need to be tested or you may end up just passing it back and forth. Either way, one of the tests was either faulty or the old man is getting something on the side. there is no way around that. As far as one of the tests being faulty, it doesnt matter now because the condition has been treated. it hasnt been treated in him though so you are going to have to give the action a rest until he is. yeah right.....like new parents have sex....hahahhahaha. Oh yeah, chlamydia can cause preterm delivery.

I think that Chlamydia can be dormant and you could show no symptoms. Your husband could have been a carrier and passed it along to you during sex. If your baby was 2 months premature, than your doctor probably tested you to try to find out what caused the labor and delivery early. Also, they will need to treat your baby for the disease because it can be deadly for an infant that is so small and unprotected. I think if that happened to me, I would want my doctors to test me for everything under the sun to find out what went wrong with the pregnancy and to help my child.
Also, it only takes a few minutes for a man to sleep with someone and if you think, even for a second, that your husband did something behind your back, I would confront him. This isn't about the 2 of you now. Your premature baby could depend on it. Take the medicine!

If you are finished with the antibiotic and it's been at least 24 hours since the completion, BOTH you AND your husband should go back to the doctor -- you for retesting and your husband for testing. Be prepared to learn some ugly truths about your husband. As for your baby, premature births do happen for no apparent reason. Talk to your child's Pediatrician as to whether she/he recommends testing the baby . A baby who is exposed during birth may develop conjunctivitis or pneumonia.

It is possible that though you and your husband are faithful at this time that at an earlier time one of you contracted it, it could have even been before you were married... it was undiagnosed and you have been passing it back and fourth to each other for a while.
It is also possible that it was the cause of the prematurity of the baby.
You need to make sure your husband is tested and treated, and you also need to make sure the baby is tested and treated.

Yes have a retest and have the baby tested. If you do have chlamydia then your husband did cheat even though you think he didnt.

always a possibility, and while i don't know your husband, and don't want to talk bad about someone i don't know, i think that if your only reason for being sure he did not cheat on you is because he was always around you, well consider this....
my dad would never let me out of his sight, he always locked us in the house when he left out and the windows had bars except for the second floor window, i was not allowed to even go to church, however i managed to get pregnant, how about that!,
everything is possible in this lifetime, just saying don't close your eyes to something you seem to know already.
seems to me if you are gonna assure you were not cheated on, you should have other reasons other than you were being hawk eyed with him, ask your self why would you have to not let him out of your sight, sorry, it just seems to me you are lying to yourself.
but like i said everything is possible. it could definitely have been a medical error.

No, you should have your Husband tested and YOURSELF. You never truly know anyone. Also, between then and now if you've had sex with your husband again you could have re-acquired the disease. Don't be daft, you didn't get it by blowing kisses. Chlamydia is the most common vd there is and you need to be sure you no longer have it. Please be safe, these diseases can be destructive if left untreated.

Just Take the Meds and see what happens. I don't believe the meds will hurt you. Then get checked again, hopefully it will be negative.
