Yes! ... I had a clot in my heart and one day it decided to let go it traveled to my head and caused an Imbolic Shower in my Brain also known as a stroke It blew up and injured 68 different points in there. It happened 5 years ago and it took me 3 years to get over most of it and some of the things it affected I am still battleing with I was young to and the Dr didn't think to do certain test for strokes on me So Don't play around with this the clot can go anywhere in your body and cause all kinds of damage and even DEATH!

My daughter, age 50, recently had a blood clot travel to her lung following vein surgery. She spent a week in hospital and is currently on leave of absence. Her current drug is Coumadin. It is definitely a life-threatening condition. I am not a doctor, just a concerned parent, but I would advise you to get a second opinion. If a clot in the lung is life-threatening, then surely one in the heart is even more so. I would think the patient's youth would work in his favor. But you need to know the clot's size, where in the heart it is located, the effectiveness of the drug and its side effects, and the ultimate prognosis for this type of condition. These are some questions you should ask your doctor.
