The more you have sex, the more chances you have of getting std. However, do you only get it from a person that already has it or does it somehow create and grow itself from having sex with too many people? For instance, if you had 1000 virgins all have sex with eachother could they be in danger of creating and spreading any type of std?

Fish,

The important thing to understand is that STDs are caused by bacteria and virii (germs) just like any other disease. Germs can get into your body through any number of ways. Sexually transmitted diseases are peculiar only in that the germs that cause this class of disease prefer to transmit themselves through mucous membranes. This includes the sensitive areas of the genitals and the anus, as well as the mouth and nose. It is remotely possible to acquire an STD without any sexual contact at all. For instance, herpes simplex and the HPV virus can be transmitted merely through skin contact.

The important word to recognize in STD is the T for transmitted. These are a class of diseases that are TRANSMITTED by sexual contact, not CAUSED by sexual contact. Therefore, having sex with someone who is not infected by a germ that leads to an STD carries no risk of infection to either party.

It is vitally important to note, however, that it is completely possible to carry an STD infection and have no outward symptoms. HIV, for instance, can lay dormant in the human body for many months before symptoms of the disease appear, and all that while the possibility of transmitting it through sexual contact exists. Therefore, safe sex through the use of devices such as condoms should be practiced in any sexual situation where there is the least question about the possibility of either party carrying a disease. Since STDs do not require sexual contact to be transmitted, that includes your 1000 virgins.

I hope this helped!

STD'S can be formed, especially when you mix different bacterias. For instance, anal sex mixed with vaginal sex can cause a nasty infection for both partners. Or, having sex with multiple partners at the same time, even if they are all virgins. There is no rule that guarantees that you will spread or form anything, but the chance is always there. And obviously, some risks are not as prominent as others. How do you think these things got started in the first place? They formed during sexual activity, probably between two virgins, and then mutated as they spread over the thousands of years that they have been out there being spread around. Then throw in people with strange and unusual sexual behavior, i.e. sex with animals, and you really could get going down an "STD" path of germs mixing with other people germs and mutating.

"STD" is a general term applied to many viruses and infections that are caused/spread when having sex or doing sexual behavior, i.e. oral sex. That is why, it is always best to practice safe sex, even if someone is a virgin and you think there is no chance of getting or giving anything.
