I wonder why the previous HIV screening test of his changed into negative after consuming antiviral drugs. Is AIDS curable?

HIV is controllable through antiretroviral drugs. It's not necessarily a whole lot of pills, though; using HAART therapy three medications are administered, two of which can be combined into one pill, so it's only two pills a day. Those pills cost about $20 each, so it's not cheap; but Magic Johnson will be able to afford them. I don't know what the situation is the United States for supplying antiretroviral drugs, but in some Canadian jurisdictions government health plans provide these medications at little to no cost.

An HIV screening test would not change from positive to negative (unless it was a false negative). You may have heard about a "viral load" test, which measures the number of copies of HIV in blood. Successful antiretroviral therapy will cause the viral load to decrease dramatically, until it is below detectable levels; but the virus is still present and potentially transmissable. Undetectable levels means less than 30 copies of the virus per cubic centimetre of blood. Viral load tests can measure up to 750,000 copies per cc and, in very sick people, the actual viral load can go into the millions per cubic centimetre.

Magic Johnson? yes alive and kicking just seen him on TV the other day.
Aids is an advance form of HIV and test are not always accurate,As far as i know there is no known cure just as there is no cure for the common cold. I think that the situation with him is that the virus is laying dormant as this sometimes happens with cancer patients.
but at his level if there was a cure he could probably afford it....

AIDS is no more cureable than the human race is able to get rid of it's stupidity and ignorance. That being said:

Magic Johnson has been on an antiviral cocktail for many years now. That antiviral cocktail keeps your blood cell count up, preventing the infected to ever develope AIDS. (since we know that HIV and AIDS are not the same thing) He will never be cured of HIV, but he can live the rest of his life without ever developing AIDS as long as he can take his drug cocktail and keep his blood count up.

I believe you are talking about Magic Johnson; yes, he is alive. I don't know anything about his condition being cured after consuming drugs; as far as I know it is not curable.
