What's the problem with keeping a clean licence?
I've been driving since I was 17, I'm now 40. I have never had an accident, and my licence is as clean as the day I received it. I don't speed in urban areas, I keep my cars safe and well-maintained, I expect the un-expected, and if I want to test my limits then I go do some karting or take one of my cars to a track day.

No, the 'discount' for drink driving is that they have to go on sepcial courses to show them the dangers etc of drink driving, same with sppeding, but these are only when the totting up is for a single type of offence.

You can appeal, but I have to assume you were doing some pretty serious bad driving or you wouldn't have been banned for two years. Your best grounds for appeal are that someone other than yourself (an old granny, a child, some innocent person) will suffer from your inability to drive.

I don't think anybody should get any special treatment or have time taken off, whatever. Aside from it being illegal, somebody could have been killed. I am so tired of people thinking only of themselves, as long as they are happy. What if a child got killed how would you feel??? I would end up in jail if it were mine, because I would kill you, not that it would bring back my baby, but justice would have been served. No wait, I would make you suffere termendously first. No, you should get no time off.

Call your attorney. He'll know if there is anything that can be done legally to get the license back before the 2 year period is over. But, in most instances, you'd just be wasting your money. Getting your license returned is harder than pulling teeth with a credit card.

in some places you can look for a restoration of your licence when u have half the term off the road served. it involves bringing an application back to the court you were convicted in but like mentioned above, you will need a good excuse for the judge telling them why being without your licence is a serious inconvenience and affecting your livlihood

In the USA you have 30 days to appeal a conviction. Im not sure about the UK but I believe its too late for that.

Learn your lesson and stop breaking the law - they you won't have the problem.
So you didn't hurt anyone on the occasions you gained your points - no doubt though you could have and if you don't start driving sensibly, you probably WILL hurt someone.
Give us all a break and drive sensibly.

Well, you should have thought of that before you got wasted and drove. OK, you got lucky that time and did no harm. But what if you weren't caught? You could have hurt someone, and they would have to live with the consequences of you deciding to drive wasted. So now you have to live with the consequences of your own decision.

Why push your luck? I really hate it when drunks say its not their fault or b.s. like that. You want to appeal. Go for it. If this was your first offense, you got lucky. Did you totally lose your drivers license?
