No soft drinks are good for no one unless you have an upset stomach and then ginger ale or seven up might help. Of course a bottle of sparkling mineral water would do the same thing only it's not sweet.
You don't need to drink soda's they are just empty calories and give you no nutrition.
Now for the marshmallow question:
In the 19th century, marshmallows were made by mixing mallow root sap, egg whites and sugar into a fluffy mold. The French added cornstarch to help speed up the production and give the candy its unforgettable form.
Today the manufacturing of marshmallows is quite different. Mallow root sap has been replaced by gelatin. Corn syrup, starch, sugar and water are mixed with the gelatin. The fluffy mixture is piped through long tubes and then cut into equal pieces. To create shaped marshmallows like Peeps, a special nozzle moves back and forth to cut the marshmallow into recognisable shapes.
Vegitarian marshmallows can be purchased on the net or at some health food stores.
The marshmallows are made from non-bone-char-refined sugar, water, light corn syrup, Emes vegan gelatin, vanilla extract, corn starch, and sea salt. They're distributed by Vegan Essentials and a few selected stores. One 10 oz. bag runs about $6 and the Krispy Rice Treats cost $2.
Expensive, but Vegan Supreme is a small company that makes the marshmallows from scratch. With time and support, I'm sure the prices will come down.
Pick up a bag online or request them at your local natural food store. Come to think of it, a cup of hot chocolate (vegan, of course) would taste awfully good with some of these right now.

Marshmallows also can be made at home. The ingredients are almost the same, but salt and vanilla extract can be added in for flavouring.
Andi's Vegan Marshmallows
provided by Gail Davis
2 1/2 T. vegetable gelatin
(You can use Kojel unflavored gel available at: www.pangeaveg.com)
1 1/2 C. sugar
1 C. light corn syrup
1/2 C. cold water
1/2 C. water at room temperature
1/4 t. salt
2 T. vanilla extract (or flavoring of your choice)
Cornstarch for dusting
1. Combine Gel and 1/2 C. COLD water in the bowl of a mixer with a whisk attachment. Let stand for 1/2 hour.
2. Mix the sugar, corn syrup, salt, and 1/2 C. water in a saucepan. Stir it over low heat until the sugar is dissolved and a syrup has formed.
3. Cook it until firmball stage (244 degrees Fahrenheit on a candy thermometer.) Remove pan from heat, and slowly and carefully pour the syrup into the gelatin/water mixture in your mixer. Beat the mixture at high speed until thick, white, and tripled in size, approximately 15 minutes. (If you stop before this time, you will have marshmallow creme which you can store in a jar and use like the commercial stuff.) Add the vanilla and beat just long enough to incorporate it.
4. Dust an 8" x 12" glass baking pan with cornstarch. Pour mixture into pan, and dust the top with more cornstarch. Wet your hands and pat the mixture to smooth out the top. Dust again.
5. Let stand overnight to dry out, uncovered. Next morning turn the"marshmallow cake" out onto a board, and cut in into small pieces with a dry, HOT knife. Dust again. Makes about 45 marshmallows.
Have fun :O))

Soft drinks are OK, veg-wise (and I'm sure you already know they're not actually good for you...)
I guess you can get veg marshmallows at some specialty stores (a bunch of other people answered as such to another question about them,) but all the regular brands have gelatin.

Yeah I'm pretty sure soft drinks are OK for vegans. I drink Dr. Pepper.
As for vegan marshmallows, I think Pangea has some, though I've never tried them. Go to www.veganstore.com.

Coke, Pepsi and 7UP should be fine...
Veggie marshmallows are a tough one to find, considering it's just gelatine, animal bone and icing sugar with cochineal food colouring. Believe me, I have been look for veggie marshies for AGES and found nowt. Irritating.
