My wife and I refuse to have a microwave, irrespective of the major negative health aspects they are associated with, we do not feel that they would be of any benefit to our lives. we both love to cook and see so many of our friends who cannot do this because they can just pop something into the mike (we feel the same about ready made meals etc too). We're only a young family by today's standards and would hate to think that our children will grow up thinking that meals are created by removing plastic and waiting for a 'ping'!

Actually, my mother's cousin didn't own a microwave until aobut 2 months ago. But that is only because she is an amazing cook and thinks everything should be put in the oven.

I'm from India....And a majority of Indians do not have a microwave even if they can afford it...
Coz we believe in eating freshly prepared hot food most of the times and if at all we need to warm it then we use a stove

I don't, and can't really see why I would want one - whenever I hear people talk about what they use it for it's always things like reheating food or heating up single cups of milk. To me it's the most unimaginative and least personal way of cooking and makes me think of airplane food and other culinary disasters - but perhaps I should admit to prejudice and bias in favour of more traditional ways of doing things...

Yes, my nephew. Any time he eats anything from a microwave he gets a rash in his mouth and throat. Makes you wonder what it's doing to your food.

Me. Because I really do think they are bad for you. Anything that says "don't eat this food for a minute or two after you take it out of the micro" because the molecules are whizzing around and their structure is f8ucked up until after one or two minutes.... no thanks. And thats beside the fact food tastes shite when cooked in one and it encourages bad eating, when you are tired and can just pick up something and "cook" it in the mirco. I sound fascist I know!!

my parents are married for 34 years now... it's been only 2 years since my sis and i brought them a mircowave... they knew how to use it but they seldom use it... the poor thing can only get heated when me or my sis is around that is once or twice a year... they prefer to heat left overs in pans... i do that too... :-)

Yes - me.
I just don't trust a machine that produces hot food....WITHOUT HEAT!
'Tis witchcraft, say I.

I cook all my food in a giant wicker man.
