Well, actually....hate to break it to you, but yes, we do eat last night's leftovers. Traditionally, we eat a bowl of rice porridge that is accompanied with several small side dishes to eat alongside for flavor. Usually it's leftovers from the previous night and if there aren't any, it can be served with things like Chinese preserved eggs, peanuts, shredded meat, etc.. The main focus though is on the rice porridge. When rice used to be cooked for dinner, it was cooked in a pot, not in a rice cooker as that is a modern invention, so the bottom of the pot would have a crispy crust. That was boiled with leftover rice and soup broth/water, possibly meat bones, all night so in the morning, you have a tasty porridge.

congee, egg or tuna sandwish, salty meat bun, hard boil egg, waffle, can be the combination of western or orietal breakfast,and usually goes with hot coffee, tea or soy milk
