I'm not sure about the Kool Aid. Nobody I know buys it.
Chicken can be based on it's the easiest animal to kill and you can use so many parts of the chicken for food including the feet. I don't know of anyone that eats cow's hooves.
Plus you can probably find more chicken places like KFC, Churchs & Williams (Texas only) in black neighborhoods.
Remember there is a MAJOR difference in what you can find and buy in black neighborhoods vs white ones.
Give you a quick example of my city.
None of these are in the black nieghborhoods: movie theaters, no sit down restaurant like Chili's, Owen's or Black Eye Pea, Best Buy, Macy's, JC Penny, comic shops, Borders Books (or any bookstore) Tom Thumb & nor do the grocery store sell alchol like some of the white nieighborhood stores (Tom Thumb).
Or shoes that fit my size (14).

In a study preformed by the Medical Association of Cultural Nutrition (MACN) in 1998, it was found that in double blind studies of people of various races, of both sexes, and of the ages 18-21 and 24-30 that given the opportunity 94% of black people are likely to eat chicken, drink Kool Aid and snack on Cheese Doodles, whereas only 72% of Caucasians were, and a mere 19% of asians chose to snack on these foods.

God, I had no idea, I was black. Must just be me, but I love chicken and kool aid.
Also having a few black friends, I've yet to see anyone of them, drinking Kool aid, maybe they are white, and I'm black, and I have seeing it all wrong for years.

I hadn't heard that Black people like Kool-Aid, but so do a lot of white people. I'm originally from the south, so I feel like I'm stereotyped when it comes to food too. I like cornbread, fried chicken, fried okra and fried green tomatoes, but just because I'm southern doesn't mean I like watermelon and boiled peanuts...hate them! And I'd just as soon eat a chimichanga or a slice of New York style pizza. There are exceptions to everything, that's what makes stereotypes so ridiculous.

Some of us couldn't afford steak and wine growing up. I'm black and Puerto Rican so I'll always love 'rice and beans' and who doesn't like 'kool aid and chicken'? It's all good. It's better to enjoy life than worry too much about how others may or may not be judging you.

TV shows may have something to do with it. I love fried chicken and many of the kool aids and I am not black.

Because of movies like Undercover Brother and Don't Be A Menace to South Central, While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood. That's why. And every stereotype has a hint of the truth.
