He is sick and dying from IPF . Has no Job, money or healthcare. He lives with 84 yr. old Mother which can"t take care of Him.

Find the regional VA center - go to http://www.va.gov/ and dig a little. Give them a call - it takes quite some time to get to a human being on there, just so you know... Find out if he has a copy of his DD FM 214 - they always want to see this. If not, it doesnt mean they wont help, its just easier to get there if he has this. If the VA wont help, contact the local VFW, American Legion and ask them for some advice - they have MANY contacts. If these fail, contact you r congressman. Good luck....sad that a veteran should be in such a position.

When all else fails most cities have a health and welfare or health and human services department it is faster then social security or the veterans bit know most health and welfare benefits for cash assistance is a 2 year life time in some states. But this will get some relief and assistance until veterans or social security is able to help. Good Luck

Social security...disability.He may get turned down the first time you apply but there are lawyers that will fight it for free and get it for him.That should pay for home health care,and you can try the vetrans hospital too.He just needs someone ( you maybe ) to fill out the applications for him.

The VA (at least in this state) does home health. He may also be eliglbe for a pension. My husband gets his meds for free though the VA too so try them. Seems like they could at least point you in the right direction.

See if your city or town has a Vet Center (not the V.A.). If not call your local VFW or American Legion and they should be able to tell you who can help you.

can he not go to a local VA center? i'm sure you could get help or guidance from their financial offices.
