Yes it's your right to say your side blah blah but know the true facts to your answers.

This is a question/ answer place for non-meat eaters. Why do you have to leave rude comments thinking it's your right to say you are going to eat even more steaks to "even it out"?

Leave your rude comments here but also do your reseach.

Example: If you say "the animals will die anyway so why not eat them"? Use your logic to discover the logistics. If the want is low the animals are not made.

Example 2: "Oh but meat is tastey". Well what if you are in McD's and they ask do you want antibiotics with that, would you say yes? You probaly are.

And finally, some animals are treated well some are not. I am not going to take that chance. What you say?

I don't eat meat so you probably don't want to hear from me. I made the decision to stop eating meat, meat eaters decide to eat meat. We will never agree (I hate the rude comments but that is ignorance, feel sorry for them and ignore them)

I do think that meat eaters have a valuable contribution because you can justify not eating meat and sometimes they do ask good questions!

If they don't know the facts offer the information. I am not a preaching vegetarian but I know my way of eating is the best.

Good luck with ignoring the ignorance!

This is not an exclusive forum for vegitarians, it is a discussion forum to debate vegitarianism. All debates need an opposing voice and while some are not as eloquent in their posts as others, they are still putting forward their own perspectives on the questions being debated.

Animal farmers are a vital part of many countries economy, ban or even significantly reduce meat production and animal breeding then you are marginalising a whole raft of society that will be forced to live off benefits which puts a massive drain on all the tax payers and the individual pension funds. As farmers are no longer tending the lands, the countryside grows fallow, eventually making rural villages un-inhabitable.

Everyone know Mcdonalds is minging anyway and is being shown by the recent falling profits and restaurant closures!

Yes some animals are being treated badly. this is not a question of meat eaters wanting lots of meat but supermarkets/fast food chains demanding ever cheaper meat to maximise their profits and constantly undercut each other.

Please dont interpret this as a swipe at vegiterianism, each to their own. I personally eat meat because i like it and i believe it is vital for a well balanced diet but if others dont want to eat meat thats fine. its the pseudo environmentalism that i do object to.

i was a veggie for 16 years - 4 of them a vegan

i gave it up and have been eating meat again for the last 5 years.

as i see it, animals are fair game for food - it is natural. what is not natural are the methods we use to produce meat and the suffering caused to animals in the process.

for this reason i only eat meat from ethical suppliers - and that doesn't include McDs!

it's good to have an informed opinion on this subject but in all my years experience as a veggie, you get nowhere fast trying to argue the toss with dyed-in-the-wool thick minded carnivores - especially if you start from the position of 'meat is murder' with no compromise of that position or ability to accept that it is no sort of arguement.

Oh, grow up you stupid cow. You and Chrissie Hynde must be joined at the hip. She's another one who is always on her high horse banging on about how immoral it is that mankind eats meat. It is as if you and her are on some kind of a mission to make it illegal to consume the stuff. Very Soviet I must say! If you want to be a veggie, then that is your right. Just as it is my right to eat meat. I have eaten it since I was knee-high to a traffic bollard, and there is no way that I am going to change just to ease my conscience, and appease the likes of you. If we are pissing you off as you so eloquently put it, then it proves what a stupid little child you obviously are. I'll say it again shall I? GROW UP.

Well, you're not really going to change anyones mind and force them to not eat meat. People have been eating meat since forever and it's not just going to change so why are you freaking out. PEOPLE EAT MEAT. It's true, some of the meat products aren't exactly good for you but everyone deals. It's good that you're a veg.

OK I don't want to offend you or be rude, so please don't take this personally... but animals eat other animals its a fact of life and survival.

Yes meat does taste nice but at the end of the day its a matter of personal choice and I respect that you prefer to be a vegetarian the way you should respect that I want to eat meat. My ancestors have been doing it for a long time and my teeth were designed for it.

Meat eaters just get annoyed with vegetarians for being so preachy. Its a natural backlash towards preachy people with superiority complexes. Like the people who go onto religion saying "I am satan's love slave...your thoughts?." I'm sure they don't hate god. They just get annnoyed with over zealous, in your face christians.
They antagonize people who believe in things so strongly that they push their beliefs on other people.
I eat meat, sometimes. And I don't give a flying f#@k what you do. I'm not interested in my diet and certainly not yours, hippie!
Stop wearing your diet on your sleave and using it as the core of your identity. Stop talking about it all the time and preaching to people and then you won't have people offering you hot beef injections online.

Vegetarians and Vegans are not weak like most idiotic people say. We're healthy and not overweight like you people who eat your cruddy steak and hamburgers. We are not the reason that there are illnesses either. I am almost never sick and any other Vegetarian would say that they're rarely sick too. So SHUT UP with your stupid ideas on Vegetarians and Vegans and maybe read a book about it that was WRITTEN by one.

I agree with you completely but there's no point getting all steamed up about it is there? People will do what they want in the long run and if they want to ingest meat which has been pumped full of anitbiotics and all the other crap they put into it, that's up to them. Personally, I prefer to eat food without a face but that's just my personal choice. Don't let the carnivores grind you down girl!

If you choose not to eat meat then that is your choice if someone chooses to eat meat then that is their choice.
To try and force your point of view on everyone is not the way to get people to change their minds it just makes people either eat more meat so they can prove they will do what they want to do or they will eat it out of spite.
Stop trying to force your choices on others and you may be more successful
