Yes, statistics prove that vegetarians live longer. Of course, like meat eaters, we have to eat a balanced diet. You can be an unhealthy vegetarian as easily as you can be an unhealthy meat eater. Regardless of what your dietary choice is, you have to eat a variety of healthful foods to get all the nutrients you need.

To missinglincoln: I am a healthy "meat denier." I've been veg for 20 years and I get sick less often that pretty much anyone I know. I eat right, work out regularly, look good, feel good, and even participate in triathlons. I also grew up near a large Hare Krishna community where all the kids were raised vegetarian; the Krishna kids I went to school with were athletes and looked healthier than your average high school kid (not a one of 'em had acne, just radiant skin.)

ABSOLUTELY!
I've been a veggie for 5 months now and feel a lot better. I used to suffer from headaches all the time and now they have greatly reduced. Probably because there's no antibiotic feed meat in my diet. It's SO EASY to get protein into your diet.

I refuse to be selfish and let animals suffer for my plate, fashion, products, and life.

Yes, if you balance it well.
I have been a vegetarian for 7 years and I feel great, my blood tests are perfect also (enough iron, protein..). And I haven't been eating supplements on regular basis, just now and then during winter.. I feel lighter and digest faster - meat takes forever to get through the long intestines we have (unlike predators).

Yes absolutely and you can still get the correct protiens you need thru legumes and soy products. Also you can be an ovolactopesco vegetarian who eats eggs milk products and fish.

Not completely, meat contains certain vitamins and minerals you need. You could take supplements of those vitamins and minerals tho.

It is one of the LEAST healthy things you can do to your body.

Ask yourself honestly: have you EVER seen a healthy meat denier?

If your answer is as honest as your question, then you know it is "no".

Yes, if well balanced.

Protein is the easiest thing to get.
