in a way yes, the two civilizations has made cusine an art and a profession. chinese cuisine is very diverse and due to it's age the recipes are immense. as for french style, the only great idea is the system they had installed in the kitchen to make it more organized. recipes are made based upon the availabilty and seasonality of ingredients. the climate, temperature and customs are also inplay. cooking styles can be inter changed with the recipes but they usually works best for the type of cusine.

western recipes, french styles. asian recipes, asian style

What people are saying is that these two peoples have done so much by adopting dishes and ingredients from near and far and refined them to culinary perfection! An yes before you go picking nits there are exception to every rule. Example Indian cuisine, it stands all alone. You mentioned french-Italian, even though Rome conquered France where's the food? Blame the availability to get tomatoes/and olive oil in large numbers, so the french use butter and cream like many northern Italian dishes. You also mentioned Chinese,Korean, and Japanese connection. The Korean peninsula has been conquered many times by the Chinese and invaded by japan at lease once. The Japanese also invaded china and controlled large parts during WWII. What has not happen is a invasion of japan! Before WWII the cuisine was unchanged for centuries! Hope this clears things up some!

Not really ... all countries have absorbed cooking styles and different ingredients from all over the world! Even hundreds or thousands of years ago people were travelling - and collecting interesting cooking habits or spices while they were away!

Just to completely dispose of the statement you're querying, I'll expose just one obvious flaw ... Indian cuisine!!! Neither China nor France have anything quite like it!! Even the rice is a totally different species to Asian rice!! And what about the Tandoor oven??!

Whoever told you that nonsense is being absurdly simplistic, and you can tell them I said so!! We all know that noodles were taken to Italy from China, and that potatoes were brought from Peru to Spain, and then spread through Europe ... but does this mean that China and Peru invented all the worlds cooking styles?? I don't think so!

All cooking styles are actually derived from 3 cuisines - Chinese, French and Mexican. Yes all other cuisines are subsets of these 3.
