Wood holds bacteria, and cleaning products. Cut a lemon in half. Rub the whole cutting board with the lemon. Sprinkle with salt, let sit for 3-5 min. Wipe off cutting board with a clean wet cloth. Smells great and it will be clean.

Do you mean "chopping" block? If so, I would suggest you get rid of it immediately and get either a glass (the best) chopping block or a nylon (not as good as glass but okay) block. The reason is that no matter how good you clean a wooden chopping block it still will have bits of food and juices down in its grooves, etc. It is very unhealthy!! I have even trying using bleach on my blocks and finally just gave up and went to glass. Much easier to clean and looks nicer. Just remember you can't pound as hard on glass as you can of wood.

Wow....
Dude you can't spell. You know that right.
anyway.......I have always heard that wood is bad. It's bad because it can harber evil germs and it's hard to clean.
So my answer would be to toss it out and get a glass one. But if you really like it, maybe you could clean it with bleach. They have something on the market now that is a bleach product but is safe to use around kids and food, maybe that would help.

a wooden chopping board holds a lot of germs so ur best bet is not to get one but if you have one then clean it with lemon juice and once a month with water-down bleach - although i clean mine with straight bleach.

NEVER WASH WITH SOAP JUST ALITTLE WATER THEN SALT THE BOARD TO DRY OUT THE WATER. WHEN ITS DRY BRUSH OFF SALT AND RUB WITH A LITTLE MINERAL OIL OR OLIVE OIL THIS SHOULD MAKE YOUR BOARDS LAST A LIFE TIME.

poor isopropyl alchohol, let it sit and soack in. Rubbing alchohol kills germs, that is what is in hand sanitizer. So, it would help very much. then, rinse with water and towel dry.
