I asked for a divorce on my 30th birthday. Probably the best thing I ever did. But if that's not a good idea for you I'd say gather some friends around, have a few drinks, listen to some music, and have a barbeque. Do it at home too so if you decide you've had a bit too much to drink you won't have to worry about driving home or getting a ride. Make sure everyone has designated drivers or can crash on the couch or floor. Don't invite anyone you don't trust. Above all have fun. 30 years old is only a milestone, not the end of your youth.

For my 30th I decided to do something I always wanted to do... I booked myself on a tour of Japan. Had the best time every.
However, back to party ideas... For my birthday my closest friends and I dressed up in our best eveningwear and ate at the best restaurant in town and drank champers. Fabulous!
Dressing up is fun. I threw a party for my friends 30th. We did a murder mystery dinner, which had an 80's theme. Prawn cocktails for the starters! We played all our old 80's tapes and boogied to Wham, Duran Duran etc. Cocktails too - Much fun.
For another friend we all went on an adventure weekend, which was brilliant. Especially the quad bikes. For another friend I will be going to Ascot Races for the day to celebrate her 30th.
Whatever you decide to do I hope you have a great time.

Don't forget the guests' party bags - I did some for my birthday last year and included toy cars for the men and fluffy things for the women (you can have fun matching the cars with the names!) hats, a 'Make Poverty History' wristband, indoor fireworks, sweets etc. Everyone loved them. You could try things like a lottery ticket - people seem to like them.
Have a nice time!

What country and rough location would help ie nearest clubs...
Skydiving, swim with a shark (often in certain aquariums)...
if in a house use black bin liners on the walls, get uv lights and a smoke mache and use uv hairspray on said bin liners to create a club atmosphere.. String in uv paint looks like lasers.
Theme ie doctors and nurses.

Dinner out with friends with transportation via limo. If you drink continue on to a fave bar and you have a designated driver. Also, no clean up!
