If you want a diagnosis, go see a doctor. It could be potentially serious and you shouldn't be asking for help here.

Don't listen to any maniacs with wrong info, I'd say go back immediately and have them run some tests, its could be a combination of problems, you may have asthma it's quite common among smokers, bronchitis, or other respiratory issues, if you can't shake this it could be something more severe, but don't be afraid, If you have a whizzing sound getting an inhealer will make the cough go away, your airpassage is narrow, I'd say check on discovery health.

It could be a number of things (i.e. cancer, AIDS, etc... etc..), but I tend to believe it is just a bad cold that you are having a tough time of shaking as maybe you are not getting enough rest or not eating properly, but you definitely should see a physician!

sounds like chronic bronchitis. do you get it every morning?
i suggest you set an appointment with your family doctor so that he/she can teach you some therapeutic measures on what to do and how to control it.
