Seeing as how nobody answer the question, they just pissed and moaned about it, please allow me to take a shot in the dark.

In what way?
There is a huge difference between a vegan and a vegetarian. I am neither. Most vegetarians I know don't eat meat for ethical reasons but, rather for health reasons.
Yes, most of the milk supply in the U.S. is full of hormones. You can thank Monsanto for that. The hormones they us to increase milk production is outlawed in the the European Union. Personally I buy hormone free milk and organing produce. Also, the term free range chickens is a joke.
I have met vegans that wear leather shoes, I've also met vegans that don't. If you are a vegan you should not eat any animal products including milk, eggs, breads that are made with eggs, products that contain milk etc... I would also say that their beloved soy substitutes should be crossed of the list too since soy production is one of the leading causes for deforestation.
I'm still not understanding your question?

You dont have to work on a dairy farm or in a battery hen shed to know what is going on. The evidence is loud and clear that these animals are mistreated and fed garbage which you then eat.
What are you trying to say? That we choose to be vegetarians/vegans for the fun of it or to look cool. People do their research before making a change in their lifestyle. This is not about keeping up with the Jones's. It is an informed choice to eat healthily food, that is all.

I became vegetarian for medical reasons. I've got diabetes and had to cut down on all animal proteins.
At first I only gave up red meat (cow, elk, buffalo), but that didn't stop the kidney probs so I had to cut out white meat (pig, chicken, fish). It was very hard at first.
Then I stopped eating cheese, eggs and yogurt. I also quit milk. I never drank much of it anyway and used it only on cereal or in coffee.
Finally my kidneys stabilized.
I'm not a big fan of soy and tofu, and I still have to limit my protein so I don't eat much of it. I do eat some nuts, seeds, nut butters, along with beans and lentils.
I miss being able to eat my old way sometimes, but if I want to live longer and pain-free, then vegan it is.

I have lived and worked on a horse farm and a regular farm where we raised corn and soy beans and cattle.
I was vegan for about 5 years. I still do not eat much meat.
I have never had a problem with animals raised for slaughter.
I do not have a problems with animals used to produce milk or eggs or any thing like that. Animals are here to serve us as humans are the top ofthe food chain.
I chose not to eat meat as I felt better when I did not.
I would never advocate t hat anyone be vegan unless that is what they want for their own reasons.
It is sort of "trendy" now ans that is stupid. But that is people.

I was raised on a sheep farm and my uncle had a dairy farm so I know what goes on in both areas. I am vegan now, I became a vegetarian a long time ago because I really dont like the taste of meat. So not everyone is vegan or vegetarian because it is trendy or fashionable.
If you read answers here you will realise that people are genuine and do know why they choose to not eat meat.

Probably are, it isn't as if they would deny themselves meat if their planes crashed in the middle of nothingness and that was all they had to eat. They would be killing each other for food.
But wait, would human count considering it isn't an animal? I have never exactly seen a vegan protesting cannibals, have you?

I have a similar question. Have you ever ridden in a short bus, or wore a "special" helmet? Because per your logic, it would be the only way to prove your retarded. Oh wait, your questions really cover it. Good job! heres a gold star... Don't eat it.
