If you're trying to impress your guests, perhaps the lasagna would be the better choice as it gives a more "serious" vibe, serve with a nice wine and a salad..However, if it's a light-hearted get together pizza with beer might be a good idea.

It depends on my mood and the kinda of pizza, I'd rather have lasagna then Papa Johns pizza.

I believe lasagna takes longer to cook. If the pizza is from Pizza Hut...yum yum. I like both personally.

Lasagna - Garfield agrees.

Also, it is the food of kings:
While it is traditionally believed to have originated in Italy, evidence has come to light suggesting that a very similar meal known as "loseyns" (pronounced 'lasan') was eaten in the court of King Richard II of England in the 14th Century.

Some random quotes

"You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. But they don't all bring you lasagna at work. Most of 'em just cheat on you." --Silent Bob, in Clerks

"I never met a Lasagna I didn't like."
- Garfield, paraphrasing Will Rogers

"We shall feast our grape-gleaners with lasagna so tempting to swallow in slippery ropes."
- Robert Browning, poem, "Englishman in Italy"

Jon: "Most of the Earth's surface is covered by water."
Garfield: "Who cares? How much of it is covered by lasagna?"

Lasagna, because one piece of lasagna fills you up more than one piece of pizza!

It would depend on what is on the pizza, what type of lasagna and what it is you are planing to drink. I need more information.
