Unless you are a body builder you do not need to worry about protein intake. It is in so many things you eat already.
There are lots of natural sources of protein without getting animal sourced food. You get a complete protein from yams believe it or not. No, not the candied sweet potatoes in a can, but a real yam. Bake it like a potato or mix it in to a stir fry. You also get protein from dark green vegetables like kale, spinach, broccoli, brussell sprouts and more! Of course you know most nuts make a great protein source too. I like to sprinkle sunflower seeds on my salads, or cashews in my stir fry yummm! Beans are also a great protein source. I like to use black beans in my salads, stir Fry's, and Mexican food. However most beans will do so find your favorite! Just watch out for the re-fried ones, most of the time those have pork flavoring in them. Tofu is made from soybeans and a great meat substitute in any meal. Also watch for wheat meat which is another meat substitute that is textured like chicken.
Just as a side note, Americans are protein obsessed as a way of rationalizing their over meat consumption. The percent of protein we actually need as the average person is about 1/4 of what most people take in on an average day. So don't obsess too much on the protein, your probably doing better at balancing your diet than most meat eaters!

I'm sorry, but you really hit the nail on the head with that last comment: 'and we're healthier.' I was willing to assume that the 'annoying and have no morality' comment was at people who hate you specifically, but even so it's not exactly going to change people's minds if they think veggies are arrogant and act-superior, as they do, and as you are acting now. The healthier comment was just pointless cocking a snook at meat eaters, and if you wonder why people dislike you that'll be the main reason. People don't like groups of people going round saying 'your diet's less healthy than ours and we're so much more moral and superior to you'. OK, so it said rarely in those words, but that's always the gist. Ever wonder why the only reason for vegetarianism viewed as reasonable by the majority of meat eaters is 'I don't like the taste'? Because it's the only one which doesn't say they thing meat is wrong in some way, whether they say as much or not, and people don't like being told their diet's wrong.

Nuts, Beans, whole grains, and soy are all sources of protein.

Soy milk, soy beans, soy cheese, soy meat substitutes are all high in protein.

Nuts and beans are too, but need to be eaten with another food that "completes" the protien.

For example, Rice + Beans = complete protein
or Peanut Butter + Whole Grain Bread = complete protien

(Vegetarians who still eat eggs and dairy can also get complete protein from those foods. Cheese, yogurt, milk, cottage cheese, and of course eggs are all excellent protien sources).

soy is great, but you have to prepare it with the right spices otherwise it will taste like crap. Beans in general are very high in protein, try lentil soup.
Also, if you aren't a vegan, eat cheese, eggs, and milk. Don't eat too much cheese because it is loaded in calories and fat, but a little is a very good source of protein.
If you don't have time to prepare any of these things, I reccomend GenSoy protein bars. They have like 10+ grams of protein and taste really good. The GenSoy soy chips are good too.

you can get plently of protein from nuts..almonds, peanuts, walnuts,

a lot of green veggies have a lot of iron in them (also well needed for a vegan/vegeterian)ie brocoli and spinich..
also if you eat eggs that also has a good source of protein..

i use to be a vegeterian but i've began eating meat again in the last few years.. but i always had a hard time with anemia.. and my dr was always reminding me try and get more iron in my diet..
