I was diagnosed with a visual for herpes when I had a blister sore on one side of my butt cheek. Now I have several blisters spreading on the opposite cheek. Can it spread like that? I am currently waiting for the blood test to come back.

I know it can spread person to person, but can it spread from one side of the body to the other?

Absolutely. Genital herpes affects the whole genital area. Females can get it all over the outside and inside of their vagina, and around the anus and butt checks. Herpes outbreaks are usually several blisters, not just one or two. And the longer you wait to get treated, the more they spread usually.

The initial outbreak can be really bad, and painful! I was on pain medication, along with Valtrex and Famvir, mine were so painful. Also, herpes is usually diagnosed by a visual physical exam and a pap smear. I've read blood tests can be really inaccurate.

Also, it can take a few weeks for the sores to go away, so be patient.

Good luck!

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/HERPESTreatment2o15yZfn

Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

If you kiss someone who has oral herpes, you can catch oral herpes yourself. This is more likely to happen when they have a visible sore, but also frequently happens when no symptoms are present. Oral herpes is actually infectious about 10% of the time when there are no symptoms. You don't need a cut for the virus to enter. Microscopic abrasions in the mucous membrane are plenty enough. Herpes does not enter through ordinary skin though unless it is broken - but can easily enter through lips, nostrils eyes and genitals without a cut. It is passed through skin contact with the virus present on the skin, not through saliva. There may be no sign the virus is present. Yes, if someone with oral herpes gives oral sex, their partner can easily catch genital herpes (though it is normally herpes type 1, and not the type 2 you normally associate with genital herpes). About 50%+ of new genital herpes infections are type 1, most of which are caught through receiving oral sex from a partner with oral herpes. I caught genital herpes that way, and no, a cold sore does not need to be present. My partner had no symptoms at all and that is very common.

Yes, and it can spread from person to person the same way. Herpes is a virus that lives in your spinal cord and the degrees of outbreaks can vary and often times depend on your emotional stressors...my aunt has herpes and every time she gets stressed out she has horrible outbreaks. Talk to your doc for indepth details.

"Herpes zoster ophthalmicus" is a viral infection of the eye.It is the same virus that causes chicken pox. While chicken pox is more virulent herpes ophthalmicus spreads along the "ophthalmic branch of trigeminal nerve" and is less virulent.Very close contact like kiss using same soap same towel for face washing may spread it to others who are less resistant, but such spread is very very rare.
