A crow is a carrion bird, meaning it eats dead and decaying corpses. It wouldn't be safe to eat it because of all the bacteria it carries in it's gut just to digest what it eats.

Well a true vegie "vegan" would already know the difference between fowl and prey. And wouldn't be likely to eat meat anyway.
But as for those stupid people that can't tell a chicken from a crow let me tell you. Chickens are farm rasied on grain for human consumption, crows are scavengers therefore introducing parasites into the body.
People do eat/consume whale meat. It's merely another mammal, or fish for those that are stupid!
Dogs ARE eaten in some countries, (and cats) as well as grass hoppers, ants, beetles, bats, spiders and even RATS.
If some poeple freak out it is due to several factors: nationality, geographics or the presence of what is available or culture.
So if you chose the life style of a vegan then you must accept the redicule of those flesh eaters that may think that veggie eaters are way off base.
Plus you may want to consider the anatomy of a human being? WE are given "teeth" for a reason and it is not to gnaw on carrots and collard greens!
Although vegetables are an intricate part of a human diet, they will not sustain us.
The world population demands that the food needs of our people be met. Protein being important to human survival mankind has farmed such meat proteins from pigs, cows and chickens, making them clean for human consumption.
Thankfully you live in a society that gives you the freedom to choose if you want to eat a pig or a cantalope!
So for all the stupid people that chose a vegan life over "eat a chicken" I say enjoy the pesticides that are used to grow a 100 million cantalopes.
And enjoy your right to eat a peach!

I'm not a vegetarian, but I respect the choice that other people make as to what food they like to eat. People are ok with eating cows, pigs and chickens because the are specifically RAISED for human consumption.
I don't know of anyone who has a farm that raises crows to be eaten. As for eating dogs, some countries in Asia actually have people who do that. China is particularly known for having cuisine that involves snakes, frogs, turtles, and whatever animal they can catch or raise.
It really isn't a question of stupidity. People eat animals because they like the taste. More importantly, animals are the primary source of protein which is needed by the body. I know vegetables are good for me and I eat them too.
I guess the point you are trying to raise is that all animals have feelings and shouldn't be eaten. I agree that they have feelings. However, I disagree that this should stop us from eating them. That's just the way nature is. Lions in their natural habitat kill and eat deer and gazelle. Cats and owls hunt mice for food. Humans are the top of the food chain.
One more thing. Remember that humans were first hunters and gathers before they became farmers and planters. It's in our nature to hunt animals for food.

Certain animals are raised for consumption. I would bet that in some countries, eating a dog or donkey, etc would seem to be normal. I guess you could eat a crow if you got hungry enough, because they are carnivores, it probably wouldn't taste very good...the phrase eating crow, however has another connotation...
The best-known traditional expression of this type in the US is to eat crow. The origin seems fairly obvious: the meat of the crow, being a carnivore, is presumably rank and extremely distasteful, and the experience is easily equated to the mental anguish of being forced to admit one’s fallibility.

differing parts of the world people eat whale, dog, crow, horse, donkey, cats, and other things. Mainly the reason that someone said earlier is because they are carrion feeders and have a higher bacterial content in their gut.
Not everyone eats pig, or cow, or even chicken.

I believe that if you pluck them and clean them out inside, with salt and pepper, and a bit of onion, one kilo of flour, half a kilo of lard, mixed together, like a crumble, add some salt and pepper to this crumble, a cup of cold water and bind together with a wooden spoon, leave for aprox 20 min in the fridge, remove the pastry from the fridge, cut in two pieces, roll out, put one piece in the bottom of a large baking dish, place 24 plucked crows in, cover with the other piece of pastry, bake in the oven for aprox 1 hour and then when you remove from the oven, you can sing a song:
When the pie is open
The birds began to sing
Wasn't that a dainty dish
To sit before the king
HTH
I don't think it'll matter, that the recipe is supposed to be blackbirds, but they all look the same when they're plucked.

Because people are not used to eating those animals. But in some places, they do eat dogs and whales (I don't know about donkeys). However, it just take getting used to and there are just some animals not really meant for eating.

Must be the taste. And smaller birds dont have much meat, and/or its too tough. And centuries of custom. Are you aware that in non western countries people are eating bugs, slugs, snakes, spiders, scorpions, dogs, monkeys, elephants. I think if people minimize the variety of animals they chew on then the less they will become extinct. Im a veggie too and think way too much land and too much forest being destroyed to make way for more farm animals that end up on peoples plates. Far less space is needed to grow soy for instance. Getting off the subject a bit, oh what the heck, 'SAVE THE WORLD, BE VEGETARIAN.'

The bible tells us what is ok to eat and what is not... Check there and you will get your answers.
And by the way. DID you know that vegetables and plants are able to express fear..
So how can you eat a plant?
They did a study and with a machine similar to a lie detector, They would talk nice and lovingly to one plant and it maintained a level. They talked about burning another plant and the graphs went crazy..
Where do you get off acting so much better than everyone else cause you don`t eat animals.. You are just as bad and very pompous.
We are animal human and must eat. Something feels pain either way. SO get over your self. You are inflicting just as much pain to those plants..I eat both.. God gave them to us to do that..

First hand I couldn't tell you what crow tastes like as I never ate any, but I have talked to some who had told me that it is the awfulist thing they had ever eaten. Crows are known to eat what we call road kill animals and other things not fit for human consumtion so that was probably why people say they taste awful.
