Charcoal definitely. It gives a better taste. Plus if your going to use a gas grill you might as well cook inside and open the window.

Charcoal, it forces some creativity. Your options as far as using wood are more. Steaks on charcoal grill are one of the few pleasures men have left since the beginning of Oprah's rule. When I'm 70 I'll buy a gas grill.

Neither of these as good as an electric grill. There is no charcoal or gas taste. You have control over the amount of heat you use to cook with.

Both are good, but I prefer charcoal for various reasons, such as the cost is less, repairs are 0 to very few, the food tastes better, and my Webber Charcoal Grill has outlasted every other grill that I ever owned.

I love charcoal. There is a great taste that you just don't get with a gas grill.

I like charcoal better, it's fun to arrange the coals and get the fire started. One big bag will get you 2-3 good uses. But you have to make sure that the coals have time to burn off all of the lighter fluid - or you'll definitely taste it and get a headache! Gas is quicker and much more simpler, and if you're taking your grill to a park, you don't have to worry about what to do with the hot coals. Anyhow, there's nothing like an empty propane tank in the middle of your holiday picnic to screw things up!

You can't beat a gas grill for convenience, but when it's all about flavor, you need to go charcoal.

And then as far as charcoal goes, there's your Kingsford-style (which is certainly ok), and there's the real deal. The real stuff imparts the very best flavor into the food.

Gas is easier and since I can't avoid the lighter fluid flavor it tastes better too. I like to use wood chips as well to get the charcoal flavor.
