Is it available for sale or is there a recipe I can follow? I love tea leaf salad, but it's so hard to find! Any help is appreciated.

I live in Singapore, so if anyone know there knows a store that ships the stuff or if there's a store in Singapore that sells it, that'd be great.

I can get them at our local RANCH 99 market, try there if you have access to one in your area.

Lephet is an integral part of the social culture of Burma. It is served to welcome guest, as a snack, as a palate cleanser after meals, as a peace offering and also as a stimulant to ward off sleepiness. Traditionally, lephet is served in a container with different compartments for each ingredient. Guests using the thumb and the first two fingers of the right hand delicately serve themselves.
Ingredients :

4 - 5 tablespoon

1 - 2

2 - 3 tablespoon

2 - 3 cloves

2 - 3 tablespoon

1 tablespoon

2 teaspoon

2 teaspoon

1 tablespoon
Fermented tea leaves ( lephet )

Bird's-eye chili ( chili padi )

Dried shrimp, soaked and pounded to powdery form

Garlic, sliced and deep fried until golden brown

Peanuts, roasted

Sesame seeds, toasted

Fish sauce

Fresh lime juice

Peanut oil

Method :
Combined all ingredients in a bowl and mix them thoroughly as with a conventional salad. The bowl can be passed around to each guest or it can be placed in a central position so that each guest or family member can conveniently reach over to take a pinch of the salad.

There are several stores at Pennisular Plaza specialising in Burmese foodstuffs. Try the third floor. I believe there is one called "Golden Yellow Land" or "Yellow Golden Land".
