If it is in a tortilla, I call it a "burrito". Why are people trying to change the name to "wrap"?

Well, it seems you are partly in the know...! Burritos are the original 'wrap'. Food trends always come from basic ideas with a twist or just plain genuine inspiration. Wraps largely became popular due to many health conscious diets that insisted bread was evil. Also vegetables were very hard to keep in a basic sandwich form. Thus the wrap, born of Mexican beginnings and heightened to trendy bistro cuisine. Only lack of imagination limits what you can put in your next wrap sandwich. =)

The wrap is more like a tortilla sandwich-meats, cheese, veggies, salad dressing, etc. than the typical beans, meat, cheese, and rice filling kind of thing that you think of when you imagine a burrito.

The things that get put into it. A wrap is a sandwich placed into
a flour wrapper instead of between slices of bread.
A burrito is a taco in a flour wrapper instead of a corn totilla

a burrito is mexican, and has beans in it.
A wrap is an offshoot and is basically a sandwich without the bread, but a wrap instead.

~Wrap sounds healthier... wraps usually have sandwich stuff in them.. and burritos usually have rice & beans, etc.~
